I am very content working at AMMO. I think if I didn’t work here, I wouldn’t do hair. I probably would just give surf lessons to kids in Costa Rica. AMMO binds a certain deconstructed sensibility with implicit professionalism that births a high quality product.

I look at hair as an art project, creating a sculpture and having a finished product in the end. A product that you hoped for…a product you can go home and work with the way you want to….with ease. (I am aware that it’s your head not mine).

I discovered my passion for hair when I was a teenager looking for a hairdresser to give me the edgy, punk cuts that I envisioned. So I grabbed a pair of my Mom's shears and literally took matter into my own hands.

After styling in New York and San Francisco for fourteen years, I moved to Philadelphia and connected with American Mortals where I’ve been happily styling hair since 2003.

Growing up in a city like Austin Texas you can't help but be creative. For as long as I can remember I've been surrounded by musicians, artists and writers. I've been experimenting with hair since I got my hands on my first Barbie Doll.I am in love with the art of hair dressing and the ability to transform someone's look and overall energy. With an artistic approach and a creative eye for perfection, I listen, analyze, consult and create. Each look is uniquely tailored to each individual. I love creating styles with texture, movement and beautiful color. Balanced with perfect harmony.

I feel like I've been coloring outside the lines my whole life. I need to be where that type of thing is encouraged.I went to school and became a stylist in '05. The best experience I ever got was just being on tour with my band and doing everyone's hair on the road. At shows, basements and bars. That's how I really learned to grab the hair and cut it. I owe so much of my cutting style to my creative friends.I always gravitate towards texture and dimension. In someone's hair as well as their personality. A big reason why this field really works for me is because I love people.

I have been cutting and styling hair for over three years. As a graduate of the Jean Madeline Aveda Institute, I quickly learned the benefits of my tutelage under my mentors- the experienced and knowledgeable staff at AmericanMortals. Having an in depth knowledge of the cutting edge of urban fashions and trends, my experience has groomed me for success in the fashion and beauty industry. While growing my client base at the salon, I take lessons from the industries of fashion, music and pop culture.

I am full of imagination. At a very young age mixing colors and drawing designs was something I did for pure enjoyment. As I got older my appetite for learning blossomed into exploring many avenues in the art world from painting and sculpture to drawing and sewing etc. Entering the world of a stylist was like winning a gold medal at the Olympics for me. Immediately I felt at home coloring hair and sculpting it into beautiful creations. Styling hair up feels natural to me like molding clay did when I was a young girl.
